Synopsis:

Fall is a self-aware, satirical response to contemporary superhero comic books. Forsaking the soap opera-esque nature modern comics have adopted, Fall combines the traditional superhero genre with contemporary writing and aesthetic standards, injecting modern themes into the archetypal coming-of-age story and putting the “human” back into “superhuman” comics.

Hayden Fall wakes up one morning to find that his nightmare has come true, and his monotonous, mediocre life is bombarded with complications.
Between an out of control telekinetic wreaking havoc on his workplace, the sudden appearance of his estranged brother Aaron, and a mysterious group of people chasing after the two of them, this is not just another day at the office.

As the brothers flee to safety, Hayden has to wonder how much worse his real-life nightmare could become.

Prologue:

Hayden Fall loathes the meaningless existence of modern life. He wakes everyday for a job that does not challenge him, in a city that emphasizes fitting in over individuality, and is forced to deal with the median IQ masses. As if his waking life is not bad enough, he has been plagued by a recurring nightmare of a shadowy figure clad in black and white armor. His psychotherapist, theorizing that this nightmare is a result of his lifestyle, prescribed copious amounts of unpronounceable medications to put a stop to them. So, Hayden returned to his boring, repetitive life, hating everything that defines his world.

The medication subdued the nightmares for some time, but like most quick fixes, it did not last. The nightmare was different upon return, more vivid, more violent. Hayden became reluctant to close his eyes, fearing a horrific encounter with the man clad in black and white armor who radiated inevitability. It always ended the same way: a cold, corroded gun barrel pressed against his head, then waking in a cold sweat.

One morning Hayden was pushed to his limits. The dream became so real he could taste the soot in the air and feel the cold steel of the gun pressed against his head. Violently awaking, Hayden’s head was throbbing with a
sharp pain. This time was different somehow. Hayden rushed off to work, unaware that this day would give birth to the truth of his nightmare. This would be a day he could never forget. This is Hayden Fall’s Story.
